Greg Gibson, EdD.
Executive Director - Texas Association of Mid-Size Schools

  • Served as a Teacher, Bus Driver, Principal, Assistant Superintendent, and Superintendent of Graham ISD, Crowley ISD, and Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD
  • Dedicated to serving the 200 Texas ISD's with 1,200 to 5,000 students

 

 

Greg Gibson

Dr. Greg Gibson started as Executive Director for TAMS in January 2020. He came to this new role after a career in public education which includes serving as a teacher, bus driver, campus principal, assistant superintendent, and finally 21 years as Superintendent of Schools in Graham ISD, Crowley ISD, and Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD.

In addition to his service in Texas public schools, he has served in numerous roles in local chambers, youth sports, and municipal advisory committees. In 2015, Dr. Gibson was appointed to the Texas Teacher Retirement System Board of Directors by Governor Greg Abbott. He has also served as a national Baldrige Examiner and on the Baldrige Panel of Judges. In 2020, he was named to the Baldrige Board of Overseers by the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Dr. Gibson lives on a horse ranch in the Texas Hill Country. He and his wife Oteka raise and show American Quarter Horses competitively. He has three adult children: Scout, Tate, and Emma, all proud products of Texas public schools and universities.
